..Syafi-the-Toddler Turns 24 Months Old..

Captured from the ticker on the right hand side of my blog

It’s my boy’s birthday, today! That marks 2 years of me breastfeeding my boy, too! Alhamdulillah.

Selamat Ulangtahun Yang Ke-2, Sayang Mama, Adam Syafi. Baked carrot cake last night as requested by Babah {Justification : I didn’t bake a cake for him on his birthday because I was away in Austin} and belum sempat jam 12 malam, one third of the cake dah di makan. Tak perlah, at least birthday boy yang rasmikan. Hehe.

We didn’t plan to have a BIG celebration this year. Instead, we are just celebrating it with a short trip to PD tomorrow.

I will update you guys on the short trip aka Syafi’s birthday treat once I come back and so, before that let me just note down Syafi’s 24 months old milestones.

Mastered Skills
  • Names at least six body parts *Yes, 1. Kaki, 2. Tangan, 3. Hidung, 4. Mata, 5. Perut and 6. Rambut*
  • Half of speech is understandable *Yes, I would agree because his speech is clear most of the time.*
  • Makes two- to three-word sentences *Yes, just like what I had written earlier for 23 months : Click here to read more.*
  • Form three or four word sentences *Yes, like ‘Mama nak susu’ or ‘Mama Syafi kentut’ or ‘Babah nak Upin Ipin’ or ‘Kakak nak eya eya o’ - means he either nak main iPad or iPhone (started with dalam my iPhone ada lagu Old McDonald. Hence, eya eya o.) or he will say, ‘Syafi nak mandi’ or ‘Adam Syafi… Adam Syafi - which actually means he wants to see pictures of him on the TV.. hahahaha… or ‘Nak ice cream’ or ‘Mama tengok kapal terbang’ and so on. Latest sentence was, "Mama mana kereta cantik?"*
  • Put on and take off clothing alone *Yes, especially when wearing Kakak’s or Dedek’s t-shirts and shorts as it is much bigger than his. Belasah lah*
Emerging Skills
  • Talks about self *Does him saying, “Syafi takut” talks about himself? OR “Syafi nak kereta cantik” OR “Syafi gatal” OR “Syafi tak nak, pedas” and so on.*
  • Arranges things in categories *Does him putting the toys back to where it belongs means arranging things? Oh wait! Yes, I know. He loves arranging his lorrys. He arrange it nicely, like queueing up or something.*
  • Can walk down stairs *Yes and unassisted too!*
  • Start asking “why” to everything *Hmm.. yang ni cam belum jer lagi kot. Tak pernah dengar lagi dia tanya, kenapa?*
Advanced Skills
  • Begins to understand abstract concepts (e.g., sooner and later) *Yes, and his favourite word is, “Kejap”. Pengsan mak tau, each time I want to use my iPhone he will say, “Kejap, Kejap”. Haha. Aku yang stress, ok?*
  • Becomes attuned to gender differences *I think so, yes! Need to do a little bit more test.*
  • Learns to jump *Yes, I did see him jumping but not too often yet.*
  • Like to sing *Definitely. He probably inherits that from the mommy. Muahahaha.*
**For the jumping and singing, I notice if he listens to this ABCD song in youtube he will absolutely jumps up and down**

AND FINALLY, My Adam Syafi in action :).
